Heightened Risks
Undernourished children die of common infections, putting them at high risk of falling victim to the global COVID-19 outbreak. Half of Haiti's population is undernourished and has the world's 7th worst Global Hunger Index score – the worst in the Western hemisphere by far. 22% of children in the country are chronically malnourished. 10% are underweight. 66% of under-5s suffer from anemia.
Our Objective
The Liberland Aid Foundation, working with Liberland's diplomatic team and the government of Haiti, have created a response to this humanitarian crisis.
We are partnering with wholesale grocery suppliers and the Red Cross to provide entire shipping containers worth of needed food and supplies for this mission. We need your help to get this aid to the people who need it.
The situation in Haiti won't be resolved by one-shot efforts.
We know this, and have a long term plan to help promote education, sustainability, and self-sufficiency in the country. As a member of the Trees for Peace Alliance, we're devoted to helping bring about an agricultural revolution in impoverished regions.
To that end, we've partnered with the Global Freedom Project to educate and train new farmers, specifically local Haitians, in the approach to agriculture known as Syntropic Agroforesty. This initiative promises to help alleviate poverty and starvation in Haiti over the long term.
We understand you may be between a rock and a hard place right now. If so, please don't feel pressured to contribute - you have your own families to support. But if you can spare $25, $10, or even just $5, rest assured that 100% of your contribution will go towards saving lives.
